Where It All Started

What started as a simple idea turned into the foundation of RocKen Radios. I built a Bluetooth speaker out of an old suitcase using spare parts I had laying around, with no intention of selling it. I brought it to a vendor show my mom was set up at just to play music and add some life to the booth. Throughout the day, people kept stopping, asking about it, and wanting one for themselves. That was the first moment I realized there might be something more here than just a one-off build.

It wasn’t planned and it wasn’t meant to blend in. It came from a genuine love for music and how it brings people together, and a drive to capture that feeling in a physical form. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of taking overlooked or forgotten items and turning them into something that stands apart, something that carries meaning again. That suitcase build showed me how powerful that could be. That’s where RocKen Radios began.

What People Don't See

Every speaker has a story behind it that most people never see. What looks like a finished build is hours of planning, sourcing, fitting, rewiring, and problem-solving to make everything come together the right way. A lot of these builds start with an idea or a shell, and everything else is shaped around it from scratch.

It’s not just about making something loud or making something that looks good. It’s about making sure it feels right when it’s finished. Every piece gets tested, adjusted, and fine-tuned until it’s something I’d be proud to put my name on. There’s a lot of trial and error that never gets posted, but it’s a big part of what makes the final product what it is.

This isn’t just about building speakers. It’s about taking something that was once overlooked, forgotten, or collecting dust, and turning it into something that stops people in their tracks.
